Radio Podcast – Listen to it in your spare time!

Here is a really interesting radio podcast with Melvyn Bragg and a team of leading mathematicians discussing the concept of “imaginary numbers”. This concept is used quite a lot in the Advanced Higher Mathematics syllabus, and while the content of this podcast is technical – it does give you a good idea of how recent and contemporary the concept actually is.

Well worth a listen!

Websites like this offering from a collaboration of prominent thinkers, academics and scientists always provide interesting insights into cutting edge science topics, and really help illustrate how interesting science can be.

Here, a surgeon – Anthony Atala – gives a demonstration of the potential capabilities of his field, Regenerative Medicine.

The talk is worth a watch just to see how remarkable some of the advancements in this field actually are.
